In the words of one of the producers: “You’ve captured the spark of a country, the spark of diversity, the spark of all of us, and our collective story… thank you for your spark, for being our fearless director with such beauty and creativity.”
Honoured to have written and directed the 2026 Governor General Performing Arts Awards. This year, I created the central theme of “Spark” ; as a guiding concept for the entire production. exploring how artistic life begins. The first impulse, the first risk. the first act of imagination. From this, we built a large scale live ceremony, blending theatre, animation, circus, dance, music. I also wrote, designed and storyboarded original animated pieces.. my first experience in animation.
